Patricia Late Harvest Noble Riesling 2006 ($35/half bottle)

One of Australia’s greatest sweet wines.  This is one of the best with its classic rind, butterscotch and honey with a beautiful lift of fresh lemony lime.  It’s rich and unctuous but the crisp riesling prevents any mouth cloying while the fresh acid provides a clean, lively finish.  Heady stuff here.  96/100.

Good match: Almond tart with mascarpone and poached figs.
