Patricia Shiraz 2005 ($56).

A generous and lavishly textured shiraz delivering masses of earthy ripe chocolatey fruit flavours supplemented with a mix of American and French oak.  Strikes a good balance with slightly coffee vanillin oak and the natural spicy plum flavours.  I’d like to see more French in the mix, but that’s just me. 90/100.

Good match: Beef fillet with eggplant puree.
