Brown Brothers Moscato Rosa 2008, $16.50.

The pink version of the Browns' Moscato results from the blending of a little light red with the white muscat wine and it works quite well. It shows attractive sweet red berry fruit, a lively bubble of gas and just a bit more body than the white Moscato. Ideally suited to sweets involving pastry and fruits, though the winemakers also suggest a match with mild Indian curry.

Australian Moscatos weigh-in at between 5 per cent and 10 per cent alcohol. The Brown Brothers' is 7 per cent.
