Brown Brothers Moscato even prettier in pink

[Mon 22 September 2008]

Brown Brothers is set to take its leadership of the Moscato category to a new level with the release of a new pink version – Moscato Rosa.

Slightly drier than the original but with the same irresistibly fruity, refined and refreshing flavours, Moscato Rosa is a perfect partner for the approaching warmer weather.

The family owned company was one of the early pioneers of the style in and the wine’s fun, fruity and mildly fizzy characteristics have helped elevate the wine to be ’s biggest selling Moscato.

“It’s been more than a decade since we first started producing a Moscato and we felt the time was right to release a pink version,” said Brown Brothers CEO, Ross Brown.

“Moscato is one of the great success stories from our Kindergarten Winery and by blending it with Cienna, we have taken that innovative spirit even further to create a fun wine with real freshness and broad appeal.”

Made from Muscat of Alexandria and blended with Cienna (an innovative grape variety developed by crossing Sumoll with Cabernet Sauvignon), Moscato Rosa is strawberry pink in colour, with aromas of rose petal and red berries aromas. The palate displays a distinctive fruitiness balanced by acidity and a mild frizzante to create a lively and fresh wine.

Moscato Rosa is delicate and fresh enough to enjoy on its own on a warm spring afternoon or as a partner to berry tart with home made raspberry ice cream. A spicy rogan josh curry on jasmine rice would also make a great match.

Brown Brothers 2008 Moscato Rosa is widely distributed throughout . RRP $16.50.
